As a latent teen back when Vietnam was winding down and people my age were gearing up, a couple of friends and I embarked on a whirlwind tour of Europe involving a battered VW bus, way too little money, and a healthy dose of optimism.
In the meantime a girl that attended my high school, but whom I didn't know at the time, was staying in nights and saving her money for a life changing journey, with little sister in tow, through Central and South America.
After all the twists and turns, involving blended families, and assorted ventures, we find ourselves happy empty nesters who love where we live but never lost the wanderlust for travel.
At the beginning of this century Ann started calling me the "Tour Guide" due to my OCD leanings to detail before heading out on new destinations. So when a building I own vacated, and still searching for that, "fun job", we collaborated and came up with Coastal Visits/guided land tours of Cape Ann. To fill all that space in the building we decided on an independent visitor center where one can familiarize themselves with all that this "other Cape" offers just 30 miles North of Boston. Here you will find a helpful atmosphere to unwind, peruse local art and crafts, tasteful gifts, and find assistance to lodging, dining and activities in Gloucester, Rockport and Essex. Schooners Market is located on premise for any road warrior needs.
Because this is a seasonal business, and our desire to escape New England winters never wanes, future plans include tours of the " other Americas", Ann is fluent in Spanish and I am fluent in detail.
In the meantime, we hope to see here you soon, and provide a guiding hand to all that awaits you.
